Throttle Position Sensor
Throttle Position Sensor, also called TPS sensor, is used to monitor the throttle valve position in internal combustion engines. The TPS sensor is a potentiometer, which provides a variable resistance depending on the position of the throttle valve.
TPS sensor usually locate on the throttle valve spindle, so it could directly monitor its position.
Symptoms of a failing TPS Sensor include lack of power when accelerating, rough or slow idle, stalling, inability to shift up, and the Check Engine Light coming on.
